Using a SPA grant, I published a storybook, "Cuentitos Ambientales" (Little Eco-Tales) of four environmental tales for younger students, with themes like "Everybody Matters in an Ecosystem." With the help of staff and teachers, I eventually read the book to 200 students in my town and left copies with each school, to be used by professors each year with their K - 3rd grade classes. SPA also funded enough copies to be used and distributed by every interested Peace Corps Volunteer in El Salvador, where I served (2010 - 2012). This photo was taken in March 2012 at a school in Yayantiqye, El Salvador. After a reading and learning session revolving around one story, some students stayed after class to investigate the other three stories in the book. The student with the book was reading aloud, while the boy behind him helped with the harder words.
