Belize

The students and teachers of Indian Church worked tirelessly for months to fundraise enough money to take a field trip up to northern Belize to visit two archeological sites to learn more about their country's Mayan history. This shot was taken at the Santa Rita site where students were looking for carvings in the thousands of years old rocks to uncover a story about a woman they learned about from a lesson that was given by a ranger when they arrived. Their excitement and conversation about the subject was so inspiring and displayed the true importance of hands on learning.
