Micronesia
The western shore of Houk (aka Pulusuk) blazed in the waning day's sun this February day, 2011. Houk is a tiny island about two hundred miles to the west of the main lagoon of Chuuk State in the Federated States of Micronesia, a nation which spreads across the western Pacific, just north of the equator. Recently returned to site from MST and feeling the accompanying zeal to reconnect on island, I took to the beach in the evening showering-hour. Villagers of all ages come to the sheltered coast to rinse off the day, socialize a little. A group of boys got interested by my camera and started showing off. I love how they seem to be dancing, because their stone skipping forms started to exaggerate over the course of our photo shoot.
