On May 10, 2018 Peace Corps Director Jody Olsen welcomed His Majesty King Letsie III of the Kingdom of Lesotho to the Peace Corps headquarters in Washington, DC. Accompanying His Majesty was Her Majesty Queen Masenate Mohato Seesio; The Honorable Lesego Makgothi, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations; His Excellency Molapi Sebatana, Ambassador of Lesotho to the United States of America; The Honorable Peete Lesaoana Peete, Senator; Mr. Monehela Posholi, Senior Private Secretary to His Majesty and Ms. Itumeleng Rafutho, Director Europe and the Americas. Joining Director Olsen from Peace Corps was Patrick Young, Associate Director of Global Operations; Mr. Tim Hartman Regional Director, Africa; Mr. Joel Frushone, Associate Director, External Affairs; Mr. Byron Williams, Returned Peace Corps Volunteer, Lesotho and Mr. Steve Burgoon Country Desk Officer, Lesotho.br/ br/ His Majesty King Letsie III said that on behalf of the people of Lesotho he was greatly appreciative of the dedication, love, and passion Peace Corps Volunteers have brought to the country. He also said that he was thankful of the contribution Volunteers and the United States have given to the development of Lesotho.br/ br/ Director Olsen presented His Majesty with an engraved Peace Corps coin to mark the occassion and to celebrate 50 years of partnership. His Majesty presented the Director with a traditional tapestry.
