Secretary of State John Kerry Visits Peace Corps on July 12, 2016.

On July 12, 2016 Secretary of State John Kerry visited Peace Corps to give remarks to the latest group of the Global Health Service Partnership Volunteers.

The Secretary was greeted by the Peace Corps’ Regional Director for Africa, Dick Day. Dr. Vanessa Kerry, the co-founder and the CEO of Seed Global Health introduced the Secretary.

Since GHSP-- a collaboration between the Peace Corps, the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), and Seed Global Health--launched in 2012, over 97 nurse and physician educators with expertise in 18 medical and nursing specialties have served in Liberia, Malawi, Tanzania, and Uganda. Over the first two years, the Volunteers contributed over 85,000 service hours to reach more than 7,000 students, fellow faculty and other health professional trainees through teaching in over 300 courses and trainings.
