Ending Preventable Child and Maternal Deaths (EPCMD) launch event at USAID on December 09, 2015
The launch event for Peace Corps’ partnership with USAID: Ending Preventable Child and Maternal Deaths (EPCMD). The event took place at the Ronald Reagan Building on December 9th from 10:30 AM-12:30PM. Experts from the White House Social and Behavioral Science Team, U.S. Agency for International Development, Peace Corps, General Services Administration, and implementing partners announced new and exciting efforts to prevent child and maternal deaths through life-saving interventions at the individual, family, and community level.
Speakers included Peace Corps Director Carrie Hessler-Radelet, Gayle Smith (USAID Administrator), Ariel Pablos-Mendez (USAID Assistant Administrator, Global Health), and Maya Shankar (White House Social and Behavioral Sciences).
