PCV Vera B. Lee, 63, of Spokane, Washington trains Bahraini student nurses in emergency procedures in the emergency room of the Salmaniya Hospital. A native of Roanoke Rapids, she earned her nursing diploma from the King's Daughters Hospital Training School for Nurses in Portsmouth, VA in 1938, became an Army nurse in 1942, did civilian nursing at Fairchild Air Force Base near Spokane, returned to active military duty with the air Force from 1956 until retirement in 1972.
