I took this photo on July 26, 2012 during our posting session, i.e. the day we were given our site folders and found out where we'd be living for two years. This photo shows the placement of my village in relation to that of my close-mate (a map of Benin was traced out on the floor with all the sites marked). This was a life-defining moment for me for pretty obvious reasons -- I discovered where I would be living, who would be near me, who I would be working with in terms of a work partner for the next two years, etc., and it was all drawn out with chalk on a floor.
