This is the main beach at Atafona, a fishing village about 270 miles north of Rio de Janiero, Brazil. The boasts are a typical collection of those the shrimp fishermen use. Coupled with primitive fishing methods, they barely allow the fishermen to make an existence income. The low land in the background is the island in the Paraiba river where perhaps 750 fishermen and their families live.
