This is my host grandfather who is 74 years old. He is one of the kindest souls I have ever met and an extremely hard worker. He has shared so many of his stories with me over the past 17 months including the hardships he faced during the Khmer Rouge Genocide. He works hard for his family everyday and it is not unusual for me to arrive at his house and see him threshing rice, mixing cement or making furniture for another villager. I admire his quiet, peaceful and genuine demeanor. He has taught me so much about Cambodia and the pure generosity of the Cambodian people. And he never lets me leave his house without drinking a delicious coconut. #PortraitsofPeace
