I took this picture during a soy formation I organized as part of a series of VAST-funded income-generating activity trainings for people living with AIDS who are under treatment at the local hospital in Cameroon. The project was aimed at care and support for PLWHA, and this formation covered both the health benefits of soy as well as the health/quality of life improvements that can come from selling soy product as an income generating practice. The goal is that money can be earned to cover transport and testing costs, therefore keeping adherence within reach. The women are here making shishkabobs from the tofu we made - it was delicious!
