On June 10, 2014, Carolyn (Carrie) Hessler-Radelet was sworn in as the 19th Director of the United States Peace Corps. She was introduced by Chief of Staff Stacy Rhodes and Senior Advisor Carl R. Sosebee officiated the Oath of Office. Carrie's husband Steve Radelet held the bible.

Carrie Hessler-Radelet is the 5th Returned Peace Corps Volunteer to be appointed to this position.
