PCV Lori Payne of Carmichael, California, is a research assistant and extension agent at a large agricultural research station in the town of Turrialba. Her job is varied, from checking on seedlings, discussing goats, or watching lab tests being conducted. she has a B.S. degree in environmental biochemistry from the University of California at Davis. Previous to Peace Corps she worked as a farm hand, pollinator, a student teacher and worked in plant biochemistry. In Peace corps, she is working with foresters and researching nitrogen-fixing trees and distributing information and material to campesinos.
