I took this photo on December 1, 2011 at the World AIDS Day event in my community in Dominican Republic. Our youth group Escojo Mi Vida ("I Choose My Life") prepared and presented informational talks and dramas about HIV/AIDS. The photo shows some members of the audience seated at the local church watching an interactive presentation on discrimination. The audience was made up of parents, teenagers, students from the after-school program and a local doctor (blue dress), invited as a special guest to discuss the importance of HIV testing. Each member of the audience also received a red ribbon, and the youth leaders explained the significance of community AIDS awareness.
