I took this photo of a World AIDS Day Voluntary Counseling and Testing for HIV (VCT) promotion banner right outside the Bawku hospital in the Upper East Region of Ghana. I worked with the other Volunteers in the Upper East Region to help make this World AIDS Day VCT campaign a success. In the month of December 2007 there was a 80% increase in VCT for HIV in the region. This success was especially exceptional considering the stigma attached to HIV+ people in this majority Muslim area of Ghana.
