Very few volunteers in Kazakhstan ventured out to the remote and distant Aral Sea but 3 of my friends and I took the journey in March 2009. Not much is left of what used to be one of the largest inland seas in the world. The trip to what is left of the sea and this ship graveyard gave us a better perspective on environmental stewardship and the effects of a changing environment.
