My students standing up for their rights This was taken during International Day of the Girl on October 11, 2013 in Liberia, West Africa. On this day our entire school celebrated the importance of literacy among girls and women around the world. This picture was taken after a group of my students paraded through the community which was lead by my counterpart and I. I tried to capture the groups energy and power and their strength to stand up for themselves and say that they too deserve a better life through education.
