These workers are part of a project to reforest with maguey (agave) in the hills of Santiago de Anaya, Hidalgo. Rather than traditional planting in rows on plowed land, the plants are being clustered planted near existing vegetation in an effort to provide good habitat for the insects that are part of the local diet. The region known as the Valle de Mezquital stretches out behind them.
