On June 1st, 2013 we celebrated the second year of the Good Father Project essay contest. This year, 245 students from all over the province submitted essays about their fathers and why they should be honored as a Good Father at an official award Ceremony hosted on Children's Day. We also received 50 photo submissions of fathers and their children, submitted by wives, children, and grandchildren. The contest theme was "my loving father". The community gathered in the province's capital square to celebrate Children's Day (June first) and honor children and families by hosting an afternoon of games, food, dancing, toys and even a parade. Towards the end of the celebration, the Good Father Project announced the 10 essay winners from across the province; those who could attend were honored onstage (pictured). The top 9 photo winners were also given certificates and all of the photo submissions were displayed on a big screen TV overlooking the stage throughout the day's festivities.
