PB and Teri Tercio, four, had been growing weak and unresponsive for some time. The happy-go-lucky boy who used to run around giggling began merely sitting, often with his eyes closed, and I never heard him laugh anymore. Though she didn't know what was wrong with him, all his mom, Natalia, could tell me, was that he was sick. I began giving Teri bits of food whenever he was around to try to get his vitamin intake up. I'd feed him oatmeal, scoops of peanut butter, hard boiled eggs. After a few days I'd open my door in the morning to find Tercio sitting on my steps waiting for his morning meal. Eventually he began growing stronger and started running around with the other kids again. I'm still not positive what was wrong with Tercio, but the extra nutrients seemed to help! February 2013
