Game Count at CCF, This photo was taken in 2009 at the Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF) in Namibia. It shows the people that were involved in an annual game count at CCF. This joint effort involved CCF staff, invited Volunteers from around Namibia, international environmental group members, and street kids from the Joy Centre. It involved a day of training, then pairing off, being delivered to sites all over the vast holding, and sitting in a blind for 12 hours while we recorded what animals we saw, how many, what their condition was, what directions they took, and their gender. While not a strictly Peace Corps project, it is a good example of a valuable educational experience that brought together people from all over the world...and involved my kids!
