My husband, David O. Smith, Language Trainer Ousseini and I show happiness at a baby naming celebration in Niger, Africa in December 2010. This picture is significant because volunteers were evacuated from Niger for safety reasons in January, 2011, less than a month after the photo was made. We were re-assigned to Armenia and completed our 27 months service in July 2013. While in Armenia, we learned that Ousseini, our beloved LCF, had passed away in Niger. The photo was made by a fellow PCV whose name is not known at this time. I found the photo along with others that volunteers in our group shared with me as we try to maintain contact over the years. I am sure this PCV would be honored to have the photo submitted for this contest and I'll certainly let our group know if it is selected as a winner.
