Panama

I took this photo on July 14, 2014 in Panama. The photo shows 3 baby goats that like to play in my front yard of my house. As a Peace Corp volunteer I have supported the goat project in my community which has been pushed by agricultural agencies in Panama to provide nutritious milk for kids in poor rural areas. Usually, kids growing up in poor rural areas of Panama don't have access to milk so they drink soda or coffee instead. I have seen first hand the benefits that these goats provide for children. I have been taking care of the goats in my community by foraging plants and carrying water to them. I never raised goats before Peace Corps but I have found out how well tempered and entertaining these animals can be--especially their offspring. Seeing frolicking baby goats in my front yard puts me in a good mood in the morning and when I get back to the U.S I am going to find a way to buy goats of my ow, which is why this photo is "life-defining" for me.
