Carol Smith, 24, of Grand Blanc, Michigan, works as a soil conservationist under the Ministry of Agriculture's National Agriculture Crop. She works with farmers in the fields, doing contouring, terracing and land studies for food crops. Carol is a 1974 graduate of Michigan State University where she earned a B.S. in resource development.
