As a health volunteer in The Gambia, West Africa, I see mothers working until they give birth, and then right back to it hours later. With a family to feed, a field to tend to, and a village to work in, moments like this are few and far between. This was the first time I experienced a mother being intimate with her baby, taking the time to shower her newborn with love.
