This photo was taken during a week-long workshop for Village Health Workers in Vanuatu. The purposes of the workshop were to provide Village Health Workers (who work in very remote areas) with education on HIV/AIDS and to train them in tools and resources they can use to effectively carry out awareness and prevention programs in their home communities. Here my Ni-Vanuatu co-facilitator, Terry, and I are showing a group of Village Health Workers how they can use simple posters to explain to their community members how the immune system works. This leads the way into a discussion of how HIV works.
