Niger
village wedding celebration in Niger (men dance) I took this photo during my first year as a PCV in Niger, West Africa in 1994. The photo shows young village men lining up to dance for a wedding celebration. Men put on nice attire, colorful scarfs and hats/caps for the special occasion. They line up to dance back and forth, side to side in unison to the beat of drumming played by musicians. Villagers surround the dancers to cheer, clap and be entertained. Like anywhere in the world, weddings bring community together and leave fond memories behind.
