I organized a youth drama camp in the Mwinilunga area of Zambia as one of my health education projects in December 2012. Drama groups from the district competed at a World AIDS Day performance event, and the five winning teams were selected for a spot in the camp, which focused on prevention, ending stigma, and peer education techniques. After the camp, each team will be performing at different volunteer testing and testing events in the rural areas. Due to stigma, the percentage of very rural Zambians going for an HIV test is very low, so these drama groups hope to provide education in a culturally sensitive way to encourage villagers to get tested.
