PCV Jane Keiser, 26, of Minneapolis, works as part of a 3-man tuberculosis team in Baghlan hospital. Her husband, Tom, 23, also of Minneapolis, is the team administrator. Each member of the team is training an Afghan counterpart who will take over after they leave. As nurse, Jane treats tuberculosis by handing medicine and giving injections. She also does some vaccinating and refers patients whom she can't treat to the doctor there. Jane received her BA in psychology in 1968 from Skidmore College and has attended a year and ahalf of nursing school in New York. She plans to get her RN when she finishes her PC service.
