This is a photo of my volunteer club, Together We Can Succeed. The kids are from a small village in Bulgaria, called Svoboda. We created the awareness ribbon cookies by hand, and wrapped them to be sold for future HIV/AIDS prevention projects. The kids were so proud of their creation. The town of Svoboda is 90% Roma minority, and this club is a unique opportunity for these kids to become leaders within their community. We had many projects for HIV/AIDS awareness, but this was our favorite one. Pictured from left to right are Kiro, Donka, Ginka, Liliana, Gergana, Zlatina and Nasko.
