This is a photo of my volunteer club, Together We Can Succeed. The kids are from a small village in Bulgaria , called Svoboda. We created the awareness ribbon cookies by hand, and wrapped them to be sold for future HIV/AIDS prevention projects. The kids were so proud of their creation. The town of Svoboda is 90% Roma minority, and this club is a unique opportunity for these kids to become leaders within their community. We had many projects for HIV/AIDS awareness, but this was our favorite one. Pictured from left to right are Ginka, Liliana, Nasko, Kiro, myself, and Zlatina. All of the kids made the cookies, formed them, and hand painted them red. This photo depicts me showing the kids how to form the cookies.
