This image was taken during a discussion on family planning and HIV/AIDS prevention in February of 2012 in a village 8 kilometers from our local hospital. Before giving a condom demonstration, we had a relay race. A team of four men and four women were instructed to pass a full glass of water from the first to last person without using their hands and letting spill the least amount of water possible. The first team to finish wins. The first round is played with an open cup while the second round is played with a condom over the top of the cup. The game is used to demonstrate how a condom works, how risky unprotected sex is, and how it takes a team (or a couple) to use a condom effectively. This picture displays the mens team getting off to a rocky start with the uncovered cup of water. This round was intended to help them understand the risk they're taking of contracting STI's such as HIV/AIDS from having unprotected sex.
