The Lost Village This photo was taken while visiting the (abandoned) village of Arbescadjau on the island of São Nicolau in Cape Verde, Africa. To get there I had to hike for about 3 miles over the biggest mountain on the island. My friend and his family were all born there. His grandma (age 84) still walks there to visit! The dog pictured is my puppy, Mogli. Who, surprisingly also walked all the way there. Many of the houses in Arbescadjau are still kept-up for when people want to visit. We were generously given this house to stay in for the night. The tree pictured bears a edible fruit and seed. This photo was taken on March 4th, 2012.
