Awareness Parade in Zaruma, Ecuador The image is of me dressed as a giant condon (condom) with the children of my PC site Zaruma, Ecuador. We were about to march through the streets of town to converge upon the parque central where displays the children had made were out for all to see and AIDS prevention information would be distributed. Zaruma is a beautiful town founded by the Spanish in 1549 and has been a center for gold mining ever since. The parade/event was organized by my sitemate Allison Mang in the Youth and Families program.
