Event in Zaruma, Ecuador This 2007 photo was taken in the Parque de la Independencia of Zaruma in the south of Ecuador, in front of the Santuario de la Virgen del Carmen. I am wearing the giant condom costume and am being embraced by Allison Mang, the town's youth and families Volunteer. She had organized an AIDS Awareness Day featuring a student parade and an awareness celebration in the central park where student displays were shown and information was distributed. The parade and event has continued even after her return home to the USA.
