Kyrgyzstan
This photo was taken in May, 2014 in Kyrgyzstan. Jailoo is a huge part of Kyrgyz culture. Once the end of spring/summer hits families leave their houses in the village and head up to the mountains. These families will then set up these giant yurts that can sleep up to 10 people (probably more) and will stay in the mountains for months at time. The men spend their days herding their sheep where the grass has gone untouched and the women will milk their cows, and a plethora of other things. When the Kyrgyz people were nomadic their entire life consisted of traveling and putting up these amazing yurts wherever they planned to set up camp. They have still kept this tradition very close to them, and now it has become a huge tourist attraction. If you were to come to Kyrgyzstan sleeping in a yurt in the mountains is a MUST.
