This photo was taken on March 14, 2013 in a village in rural Lesotho. Every year in March, the founder of the Basotho nation, Moshoeshoe I, is celebrated throughout the country with traditional song and dance. This was my first exposure to the pride Basotho hold for their nation and it exemplified the beauty of the people and their culture. In this photo, 2 Basotho girls are awaiting their turn to perform their traditional dance in front of the audience of hundreds of school children who turned out for the event.
