This photo was taken on March 21, 2013, at the grand opening of the new Senior Citizen’s Center in Macedonia. This SPA project brought together members from multiple sectors to celebrate senior citizens and to increase the civic participation of the seniors in the community. In this photo, I am gathered around a ceremonial loaf of bread with my host mom, the Mayor of Novaci, the President of the Senior Citizen’s Association, and the local Orthodox priest.
