Namibia
This photo was taken in Namibia in 2009. The hand lettered sign is similar to many hung on the fences surrounding houses in the 'location' that advertise something a family can provide to the public (with no middle men involved). It might be items like candy or a service such as that noted here. The 'location' is the Namibian term equivalent to the South African term of 'township'--or where black people were relocated to when apartheid ruled. These ventures are a tribute to the survival skills and ingenuity of people in a country where there are few paying jobs. They are always done with flair!
