Namibia

The HIV+ group I worked with in Mpungu Vlei, Namibia, was bold and ready to take risks to eliminate stigma in the village. I designed t-shirts that said 'I'm Positive' on the front and 'about reducing stigma' on the back. Positive and negative members of the group wore their shirts proudly. On this particular day, the president of Namibia was visiting our little village and Jesaya was wearing a pin supporting him, as I was wearing a pin supporting my own President Obama. This photo was taken in the summer of 2009.
