Nigeria

Although we were not supposed to have motorcycles, the Jeep was very troublesome and expensive to operate. I took a 4,000 mile trip one Christmas vacation through Chad, Central African Republic, and Cameroon from my station in Nigeria. This photo was taken early in the trip, between Onitsha and the Jos plateau. My motorcycle was a Honda CB125. The other cycle was a 500cc Triumph that belonged to my travel partner Johnny, who was later killed on this bike when he struck the rope tying a cow to the roadside.
