This photo was taken after an elementary school presentation of "It's OK to be Friends," a puppet show I wrote for the Palau Red Cross Society to serve as a tool to educate children that you can't catch AIDS by being a friend. I made all the puppets by hand, my husband built the set out of PCV materials and the high school students recorded the script in English and Palauan on the recording equipment of a local church. The high school students visited the elementary schools around the island and performed the puppet show for the children. It was a wonderful opportunity to see the teens teaching the younger children, and in performing the show, learning more about HIV and AIDS themselves.
