I taught at a senior high school in Indonesia where instead of having our students play hookie, the teachers would play hookie... and go to the canteen. It was such a unique habit to me, for students to still come to school every day, sit obediently in their classrooms, despite their teachers preference to eat noodles in the canteen. It was of course just another big piece of the puzzle in acknowledging a broken educational system.
