I lived with them throughout my two year service in a small town in the northern Peruvian Andes. They helped teach me Spanish, took care of me when I was sick, made my laugh, made me angry at times, and let me into their lives. Although it wasn't always easy or enjoyable to live under someone else's roof and rules, by the time this photo was taken a month before I left in July 2013, they were a part of my family and I was a part of theirs. This is a photo of the people that defined my service and changed my life for the better. My heart is fuller and my mind more open because of all of the moments, good and bad, we shared together.
