The first photo was taken on Tarawa atoll in the Republic of Kiribati in 2002; the second photo was taken in 2011. I have been blessed with the BEST (host) family ever, over these past 14 years! They have watched me grow up, get married, work, get a Ph.D. and consoled me when I lost my father a couple years ago. At the time, I could never have imagined this is how my relationship with them would be fourteen years down the road. Even more crazy would be the thought that they could be in constant contact with me through a cell phone app. Funny how life is really good to you when you least expect it. #family
