This photo was taken during the World Malaria Day event on April 25, 2013 in Madagascar, the Pre-Service Training Community. Peace Corps Trainees helped coordinate a Dream Banner activity where children got the chance to draw their goals and aspirations. This activity showed them that sleeping under a mosquito net every night and protecting yourself and your family from malaria, they can achieve their dreams. About 400 children participated and their drawings were displayed for the community to see. Malaria is endemic in 90% of Madagascar. This event was part of a SPA proposal activity in partnership with the Stomping Out Malaria in Africa Initiative.
