My name is Nic, I have been a Peace Corps education Volunteer in Mozambique since 2011. I teach French and English to very talented 11th and 12th graders. Last month I organized the town's first annual Cultural Day to give my students an opportunity to express themselves artistically. The event featured dance, music, theater, capoeira and fashion show performances by my students. The photo presented was taken during that event and portrays one of my 12th graders (Jeremias) showcasing his capoeira skills by performing a very acrobatic figure. The caption under this picture could be "Together let's fight AIDS." the first annual Cultural Day was a huge success. We had more than 200 people in attendance. With HIV/AIDS being a big concern here in Mozambique and in my community, I'm planning to organize a similar event later one this year and use the opportunity to promote an AIDS/HIV free community.
