This photo was taken in Togo, West Africa in the village of Pagala at the Peace Corp training site. This was a camp (Camp Espoir, or Hope in English) for children and youth who were infected or affected by HIV/AIDS. A large majority of the campers were orphans. The camp lasted 5 days and activities included education on HIV, how to live positively with HIV, self-esteem and team building games, education on hygiene, etc. Most of all it gave them a chance to have fun and just be kids without stigma and discrimination. This photo in particular is a trust game with campers and peace corps volunteers.
